fuel filter for 1985 BMW KRT 100
« on: May 31, 2024, 03:14:24 PM »
I just called my local BMW dealer and they gave me a $53 price for a fuel filter.  Anyone know what alternative part source/number I can use?  I cant believe thats a good price.

Also interested in the strainer, what does that look like and where besides a BMW dealership can I get one?

Throw away the clamps and hoses that come with it. The hoses that come with are not submersible like the BMW fuel lines and will degrade.

The fuel strainer on the fuel pump is only available from BMW.

Quantum do a complete or partial kit with optional pump, damper, filter, screen and a plastic concertina hose which I haven't tried as yet. Found on Ebay starting around $100 Au search for Quantum Fuel Pump Install Kit for BMW K100.

That's what's in my K1100LT (i.e. "Light Truck", 92) and it works just like the original. Exactly; absolute positive experience. Kit I bought came with pump.
My rubber block was completely dissolved, replacement works fine. Just had to re-use the screws, nuts and metal strip holding the rubber and plastic together.
Only noticeable difference is that the new pump doesn't show the "Bosch" name, otherwise it's pretty much an exact copy... I think I payed about $90, about 2 years ago.

To clarify, you used the concertina hose that came with the pump, Ingo?
