around here it can pass inspection …. just be sure who you chose to do the inspection…
That's probably a global condition although in some areas it might take lubrication with additional cash to smooth out the process.

Reminds me of a rural mechanic up here who did inspections for the state. He was an anti-government, self-directed kind of guy way off the beaten path and many of us with dilapidated rides and not much money could get our equipment passed by him. A few years of visiting him ended when I showed up and read a note written on the back of a greasy receipt taped to his shop office door. The lights were out. The place was empty. The note read:

NO DAMMED STICKERS

Another unintended consequence of generosity.

We had one who would come to your door until some idjot posted his info on a local forum.

Shows up in Feb on an older Harley. "Is it for sale or to ride"

a) "For sale" Gets out the fine toothed comb ...

b) "For me to ride" Fills out form ...

No sorry - around here it can pass inspection …. just be sure who you chose to do the inspection…
Do you need it to get yours on plates?
I have been thinking about just cutting the rear off without welding another piece on on my next project and then make some "bushes" in a lathe that allows for the original rear to be mounted for inspection? Have everything powder coated - would be hard to see if it was done with great care.
Would be great if someone with more knowledge about had anything to say about stability in the frame if one did that? Looks kind of ok without any rear and allows for more rear wheel travel? Like the attached pic earlier in this thread.

Chr
Yeah, I haven't cut yet as the certification has to be done to specs. So depending what I find I'll modify the frame accordingly. Nice job on the build BTW.

@Enfield how have you found the suspension high since installing? I'm considering the same.

I think it is great! But if you consider cutting the frame...I would surely make a upward bent on the loop. I am still having an occasional tyre rub if I go too fast in bumpy terrain!!

Thanks for the feedback mate. I have been considering that aswell. Have U tried riding with a pillion and do you find it handles ok if with the longer travel?
I'm about to place an order on the YSS ecoline shock.

I do ofren ride with pillion… that is ok! Passenger is around 64 kg - I am 110 kg. It handles perfectly fine! But again - if I were to do the build again I would have made an upward bend on the loop! But it works.
