It's pretty obvious on my 91 though:



Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Yes, came that way.  I don't know if a prior owner did that or if BMW NA did it for promotional reasons to show at bike shows/demos.

As far as I know it's one of a kind.
