K75 Front Brake Line Length Post 1991
« on: April 13, 2020, 02:53:01 AM »
Hello all, looong time no post. I was looking to replace my front brake line and am trying to confirm what length of line to use. My bike is a K75T that has RT/LT handlebars (it originally had the T style headlight cowl and windscreen). The number I see on MaxBMW is 810mm, the existing line I have is 895mm and that measurement is from end to end of the fittings. As you can see in the pictures there is a lot of slack even with no load on the shocks. The picture provided by MaxBMW shows the hose against a ruler at 910mm so I would assume the 810 number is the hose length less fittings. If I measure from the master cylinder, along the handlebar, and straight down the fork tube, I would think a line of 835mm e-e would provide for just the right length.

Has anyone done a custom line or is the slack I have normal?
