So it finally happened. After three years on the street without issue someone attempted to steal the k1100.
Went to start it in the morning and noticed the steering lock was no longer active, putting the keys in and turning the ignition on did nothing. Upon inspection I noticed the ignition switch hanging out.
Anyway thankfully they either got spooked or gave on when they noticed the disc lock on the front wheel.
My question is has anyone attempted to repair one of these before? Is it possible to order a new lock, keeping the same key as before?
Might take the triple tree off and see what's possible.
