Ditto Natalena:  An auto sales manager friend's frequent refrain:  "There's a car for every butt". 

Many vehicles are appliances, glorified go karts.  My mom a calligrapher  did an art  piece the phrase of which encapsulates my opinion on this somewhat irritating article: 
“Utility equals beauty”.

Me too.
When I bought my first K75 it was to replace an Airhead for my daily rider.  It took a bit but I found it to be the perfect replacement.
The longer rides made me realize the comfort and long-term bike that the K75 has proven to be with its reliability and maintainability.

Do some longer tours -- say, 500 miles on a mildly twisty hilly 2-lane -- and that K75 comes into its own.

But really I can't go too far in praising it. It's my only bike and I don't have much to compare it to.

There is some validity to the K75 being appliance-like.  After several decades of boring dependability I had an indescribable urge to own something that constantly needed fixing, so I bought a Ural.  I have not been disappointed.

Ilsa, my K75RT, reminds me of my 73 year old Toastmaster toaster that just keeps on making two perfectly caramelized slices of bread every morning, a time of day when I just can't deal with disappointment.
