09-08-29 Trying To Ride The Hellish Ghost Town New Idria CA

the primary destination before heading for the coast...

we rolled out of salinas ca at first light to beat the heat of the hellish ghost town...

we rolled up the j1 from ca 25 to new idria road... with just a few miles to go to the hellish ghost town we were turned back... the blm folks were citing folks for tresspassing unless you had a special credential......

we made our way to the panoche inn... there were 2 trucks with quads outfitted with weaponry getting ready to head up new idria road... found out they had a special hunt going on up there this weekend...

we rolled up the road to new idria... locals had placed huge rocks in the road making it like an obstacle course... a solo cruiser rider heading the other way stopped and told us the blm was up there writing trespassing tickets... so we bugged out...

o well... we got close... but not close enough... freaky experience...

on the way back to the 25 the bugeye motobrick started sputtering... i had to go to full on to keep it running... when i slowed to a stop it would die... o ch1t... so i run all the scenarios... i know all the components are good... so i figure bad gas... so we limped into hollister and filled up at a chain place... it was still kinda funky at first so we headed back to salinas just incase... but once it got on the new gas it settled right down and all is well...

once baqck to salinas.... and with the motobrick running strong... we decided to go to castronville ca for texas bbq...
