+1 on the splines, it's a common issue with these bikes. As for the Redline I'd recommend the Heavy Duty Shockproof for the transmission. I've been using it in my Ural and notice a dramatic improvement. But that is a box of rocks and gravel, it might be overkill with a K bike. I've never had shifting issues with regular gear oil (except at 100K with a bent shift fork) Somewhere north of 200K now, I think it has Valvoline Syn 75-140 in it.
