95 K11 LT Handlebars
« on: October 09, 2011, 07:21:38 PM »
The maintenance collective here in El Paso (aka the three stooges) believes, by a vote of 2-1, that the handlebars on the purple K11LT are slightly bent, causing the steering feel to be off. There clearly was a drop by a PO: the fairing on the rider's left was slightly pushed in causing the rider's left knee to press against the fairing pad (we've pretty much fixed that). I can't feel it; rode both the '93 and the '95 today and the only difference I could note was attributable to the tires.

So my general question is: could a drop bend the handlebars slightly?  And if so, can they be straightened or do they have to be replaced? If they can be straightened, what would be the best way to do that?

Forever befuddled,
