Title: Custom aluminum battery panels idea
Post by: rossff on May 14, 2017, 11:15:16 AM
I fabbed these custom 3mm anodized aluminum battery panels from FrontPanelExpress.com for my scrambler project.  More pix of the project are here: http://ke7fiv.com if you want to see more on the bike.  I think they came out great.  Anyway, wanted to post this in case anyone else might be interested in the idea.

Looks great!
Did you just mount them using zip ties?

Yes, I use a clevis pin through the front to attach to the gas tank, then a couple zip ties in the back.  I can unclip the clevis pin and swing the panel out to get access, or just cut the zip ties if I need it completely out of the way.

Very cool idea! I'll have to download their software and tinker around. I have wire EDM and CNC plasma, one is very expensive to operate for decorative stuff and the other doesn't leave the best edges. This seems like a perfect idea for the handful of sheet metal stuff I do.
