Title: Handlebar replacement options
Post by: Brick_hack on April 28, 2017, 02:03:23 PM
Hi all, I tried the search feature with no avail. I would like a handlebar with less sweep for my '97 K1100LT. The current one cocks my wrists at a weird angle that they don't like very much. Does anyone have any suggestions on bars that they have tried, or are aware of?

I am a big fan of "C" bars with risers on the 1100LT.

I'm running the "C" bars with risers and sure would like to find something wider, I find myself with my palms on the bars-ends.

From what I've read the K1 bars are wider but finding them is like hens teeth.

Thanks, I'm half tempted to just try some aftermarket bars since I'm not having any luck finding a set of "C" bars.

Got get a Flanders 22mm low sidecar bar. 27" wide. You might need different risers because it will lower you a couple of inches.

Wow, thanks for that resource! Really appreciate it. Would any 7/8" handlebar riser work? I like the look of the Renthal road high bar.

Any? I don't know. 22mm is a smaller diameter than 7/8".

Hmm. But if I got 7/8" risers and sanded them to fit the BMW, then I could run my renthal bar... and sand it gently so the controls fit properly....
