Title: 1988 K75S - Replaced water pump, small amount weeping after 200 mile ride
Post by: idc22 on September 06, 2011, 01:21:31 AM
So I bit the bullet and bought the $400 water pump from A&S Cycle instead of trying to rebuild my original. Thought I would be good to go for years. Just went for a 200 mile ride today and saw a little wetness around the weep hole (not drops coming out, but wet). I swabbed it with a q-tip and it seems to be a very, very small amount of coolant.

Is it normal for a new pump to do this the first few hundred miles, or did I get a bad one (seals improperly installed) and should send it back for replacement?

This is probably a shot in the dark, since it's such an old post.

I'm having the same problem with coolant seepage.  Did you ever get a resolution on this problem?

I plan to open the pump and take a look around.
