Title: Hello From Mi
Post by: scsbronco on April 12, 2017, 04:07:10 PM
Hi there,

New guy checking in here. I'm anxiously awaiting a 1991 K100RS. My father in-law found it for me in Milwaukee. So, my first ride will be a Fly-then ride.

My maiden voyage will be a 7hr ride from Milwaukee to Port Huron. I'm very excited.

Welcome from a fellow 1991 K100RS owner, great bike, I am sure you will love it.  Yours looks pretty original, I hope you plan on leaving it that way.

johnny is up in Dodge County not far from Milwaukee and could turn that torture plank into a dawn2dusk to alleviate your taint

I had kinda assumed that and I am glad to hear it and btw a world famous dawn to dusk seat by Johnny does not count as modifying, just improving.  If he did not insist on a personal visit I would do mine in a heartbeat.  Sadly Costa Rica to Cheesconsin is a longer ride than I can easily take on right now  :musicboohoo:

She's a fine looking beast and is likely up to the task. I'm sure you'll drop the oil before you embark. I have the "comfort seat" on my 1986 100RT. I like the saddle very much. They get a little sweaty in the summer. Was thinking a shearling seat cover would be fab....then I could look like some of them Hardley Dunstons I see guys riding around on. Need crotchless chaps, too! Have fun. Take 'er slow on your meet and greet ride. I would say they are predictable rides. Port Huron isn't too far from our cottage in Southampton...Maple Leaf side.

Best

Is the backrest a "factory" reynolds 140?  Would you like to sell it?
