The cover that installs just below the windshield, not sure of the part name/# has cracked on my '92 RT. I've taped it to hold it.

Anyone know the name of this part #.
BikeBandit has this listed: BMW Cover Center F Loudspeaker Part #46632303230 $73.64.
They also carry: BMW Covering Center Part # 46631453173 $82.81
2nd one might be it, but not sure. My RT doesn't have a radio. I'm guessing that the loudspeaker part has cut-outs for the speakers (?)
Anyone got the correct info and any other sources for this? Thanks.

Have you tried plastic welding it?
Use a soldering iron and some zip ties as the 'solder', obviously do the join on the inside part that can't be seen.
Here is a video from Delboy's garage on how to do it. I have used this a couple of times on my bike and it works great

Yes, I've considered doing the welding. Thanks for the video, never thought about using zip tides as the weld, good idea.

That part is either styrene or an alloy of styrene known as ABS. I repaired mine with some thin ABS thermoforming sheet from a plastics supply and some ABS pipe cement. The repair worked very well and made the part usable until I was able to get a good one from a guy building a latte racer.

You're correct on the part being "46 63 1 453 173 Covering center" Still available from MAX BMW for $82.81.
Mine cracked in about the same position and if I may reflect, that part is too weak, too flimsy and too thin for attempts at welding....I tried welding, epoxying and both ended up breaking again. The "tabs" where the glove box mounts attach can be cracked as well, so I just replaced it and no longer think about it. Just my .02.
It's simple to replace - Screen comes off, then the "Panel"

Then remove the four glovebox mount screws (2 each side) and you can then slide it rearward off the fairing. When remounting the screen, remember to check for proper alignment of the M5 body nuts that the windshield screws thread into. They can bend and deform- so when you go to thread the screws back in, they won't take and just spin.

Mine was completely gone when I bought my bike as I stated in a separate entry. I want to make one out of aluminum but I am not sure how and where it attaches. If you could be so kind as to post a couple of photos of that info I'd be much obliged.
I also have repaired the ABS fairing pockets by gluing ABS sheet acquired from a hobby shot the under side. I also found that spraying the repaired surfaces with spray can bedliner spray helped to hide the top side crack. Looked not too shabby.
