Title: New Member From Connecticut
Post by: 85-K100-Cafe on March 01, 2017, 11:08:54 AM
Hello Everyone,

New member here from Connecticut. Recent bought a 1985 BMW K100 that was in the process of being converted to a cafe racer. Needs some major TLC including a seat, rear lights and some paint. I am completely new to the BMW K world so i would like to recommendations on any website where i can buy aftermarket parts for this thing. Looking to upgrade the exhaust, new leversets, gas cap etc. Please let me know of any good website for aftermarket parts. Thanks

Welcome! That didn't take you long to figure out.

There are a couple of places on the site with collections of aftermarket and alternative parts or sources of those parts. Here is one (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/board,52.0.html). There is one here (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,1563.0.html), too. Many threads discuss various substitutions and modifications. The Technical Library (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/board,9.0.html) and its index (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,666.0.html) are useful sources.

Welcome!

There are numerous build threads on the site with lots of good stuff on parts, both bought and builder fabricated.  Also discussions on styling and design.

Looks like the previous owner just did part removal and didn't get into hacking things up.  Leaves you a clean slate to work with, so to speak.
