well, i am stumped at this gremlin. My high beam is always on.
1988 K100RT US spec.
I have checked the switch, actually tore it down completely just in case, and it is good.
I disconnected the headlight, battery and pulled the loadshed relay. I still have connectivity from Blue/Green and Yellow/White to White.
Note: BlueGreen is used for FlashToPass and Yellow White is the normal +12 source lead. In the US they are connected together since there is no headlight on/park/off switch. White goes to High and Yellow goes to Low.
Low Beam switches as it should, but High is always on.
I don't see any damage to the harness, fraying etc.
Thoughts from the group?

The ignition switch on my bike is the park on, headlight on switch so I guess I'm not understanding what you are conveying.
How long have you had the bike? Has it been like this from the start?

White is the high beam feed at the bulb. Work backwards to the switch. White/ yellow feeds the switch. Nothing else in-between. It's possible that the white and yellow are shorted. Yellow is the low beam feed at the bulb. I suspect the switch. Unplug it and the headlight will go out.

Just to be clear in my mind: You DO NOT have the European headlight on/off switch on the right side hand grip. Is that correct?
Is the blue high beam indicator always lit as well?
Is the headlight at normal brightness on both high and low beam?

Thanks for the comments thus far. To clarify.
1. this is a new issue
2. this is a US spec bike so no switch on the right side
3. the blue High beam indicator is on continuously.
4. the high beam filiment is on continuously
5. the low beam filiment is on when the left switch is in the center position, it is off in FlashToPass or High Beam.
6. Bulb is plugged into the harness correctly. only one way to get all 3 prongs on the bulb

Does the high beam go out when you pull fuse #5?
There is a connector for special equipment where the high beam wires are connected to Pin #5. It is probably located in the relay box under the seat. Pin #4 on that connector gets power from Fuse #5. Outside of a faulty dimmer switch or a problem with worn insulation those pins touching is the most likely place for the high beam circuit to get power.
Was this a police bike, or does it have an alarm system? Is there something plugged into that connector? If so, unplug it.

The connector I am talking about should have two white wires on pin #5. Pin #4 will have two red/yellow wires on it.
This is according to the schematic in my Clymer manual.

i think your low beam is getting high beam power and your high beam is gettting low beam power...

When my lights are switched on my dipped beam is always on.My main beam goes out when I switch the dip switch.This from new.
Does your dipped beam go out when you use the dip switch?

Well it was a small piece of hookup wire in the accessory connector. Had put some DRL's on the bike a year ago and it looks like a small strand of the hookup wire took B+ to white. It fell out as I started pulling out all of the wiring to check the harness.
