My recently purchased Reynolds rack (#240) arrived in the mail today. So off to the garage with tools and rack in hand to install on my 1988 K100RS. I figured once I got the rack in place that it would be obvious where the mount points would be. Well they weren't. Can anyone give me an idea how the rack mounts to the bike? The arms of the rack seem wider apart than the frame rail and would require squeezing the arms together to touch the frame rail. Is there mounting hardware that I'm missing? Any help/advise will be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to take off the seat and rear cowl, the cowl slips back on after the rack is mounted.
It shares mounting points with the tragkorb Z bars, you'll see everything more clearly once the cowl is off.
This is from memory from my experience of taking the rack off my bike, hope it helps.

Thanks Bill. I did remove the seat and the rear mud-flap where the license plate mounts. When I tried to lineup the rack mounting holes with holes where the z bars mount, I could only get the rear most holes to lineup (front hole were short of reaching the front most holes in the frame). Another issue is on the right side of the bike ( right side looking from back of bike) the front most mounting hole for the z bars is on the bottom of the frame rather than on the side like the other mounting points

Bill, you were right. Removing the rear cowl did make it very clear. Thanks for your help.
