Just wondering it seems my k100 clocks have developed a problem, the needle on the speedometer side sits too close to the clock face meaning that it doesn't wind back, however if you lean it forward it acts just like normal. Great if you have your clocks upside down not so great if you actually want to see them when riding your bike.
I've got a spare speedometer in my supplies but it has been opened up so it doesn't wind at all. Now I'm wondering if anyone has ever messed with these and got them working again. Which way do you have to wind the cable to get it working. Or does anyone have any idea why the current speedometer could be acting up. I've tried taking it apart to get the unit separated however can't see anything wrong.
Hope someone can help as it saves spending money on a new set of clocks.

cable? ain't got no cable, electronic pulses drives it. I put some thin shims between the edge of the housing and the faceplate of the tach and speedo to force them down a little to keep the needles from getting hung on on them.

Should have most probably included this image as well just bad lighting as its artificial light. This is the cable I was on about on the spare that I was trying to sort out. Obviously it's not working as the cable isn't wound up correctly.

I couldn't be cheeky and ask for an image possibly of the shims can't really view it in my mind how you have done it. Can't even imagine how you have got some that small for the edge of the housing. Excuse me I'm a mechanical novice.

ahh, that makes sense. I actually have that cluster on ebay right now, put it up as a novelty but the images of it might help you....

Well I haven't managed to sort it yet but I've purchased a set of second hand clocks for £20 of an 84 LT so should be sorted. Then I can work on the other speedo drives or get them sorted by a specialist.
