Title: Diagnosis: Bug death
Post by: frankenduck on August 29, 2011, 02:17:09 PM
I got the tranny off of Johnny's old "Bug-eyed motobrick" (a.k.a. the motoheap) - a 94 K1100RS that died in Iderhoe:

Here's what a "normal" worn clutch plate looks like:

Here's what the back of the bug's engine looked like after the clutch plate 'sploded:

Those are little piles of the clutch plate friction material.  :o

the bug served us well except for the last 3 rides of its life...

may 2011 drive shaft...
june 2011 final drive...
june 2011 clutch...

now the bug is a donor... so other motobricks can have another chance to live hard n fast again...

expensive tires... cheep oil... ride it till it wont move...

Ch!t, the Bug will be reincarnated by the diabolical Dr. Duck into something totally insane. I believe the Bug will live to carve again and I further believe jo will mount that thing in the future. Carnak the Magnificent has spoken.

Nope. It's got a rebuilt title and too many miles/too much electrical tape.  It's parts will be spread around the globe.....

The bug graciously donated it's handlebars and cruise control to the 93 RS I recently purchased.
