Title: Took a nice October ride today
Post by: The Mighty Gryphon on October 06, 2016, 09:35:11 PM
Thought I'd take Moby Brick out for a ride today before I have to start doing Fall chores.

Nice.

Do I see the leaves starting to color?  I always look forward to that time here in Virginia.

This is motorcycling at its best weather-wise. I'm heading north 160 miles for a high school reunion event and to visit Mom -- all slab but but the 2-in-1 brick runs better than it has in years so I'm looking forward to some smooth cruising on the interstate.

Nice.

love the temp this time of year, but that is about it.  leaves look pretty for a couple days, then they all come down where they make the roads slippery for riding and need to be raked up ...followed by months of ugly brown trees and miserable weather.

i prefer them to stay green and on the trees all year round!  :)

Leaves are just starting to change.  Will hit the peak some time late next week and then there will be three weeks of intense raking to get them under control.  This is the time of year when I regret living surrounded by large trees.

Was a beautiful day not a cloud anywhere and temperature of 75.  I didn't get to go very far, just into town to run a few errands and then take the long way home to get the odometer to hit for the photo.  Only about 35 miles, but it was all nice country roads.  Had to get it in because the weekend is going to be cool and damp..

Don't really get autumn in Queensland, we virtually only get 2 seasons wet and dry. I think the coldest daytime temperature in winter dropped to 18 C . I grew up in Victoria four seasons cold winters and hot summers nice spring and autumn, I do miss the autumn colours but not the cold. Due to the fact my mate still hasn't got a bike going, I am going for a ride today with a guy I've run into a couple of times . Unfortunately he has an R Bike but due to the scarcity of Bricks, I have only seen two on the road in the last 18 months, I will have to lower my standards.
Regards Martin.

Get back out there - and don't come back till that odometer rolls over 100,000.    :curvy-road

Gorgeous day here too.  Took the wife on a nice long evening ride to a car show, saw some friends and really nice cars.  The old K runs waaaay to nice for all the miles and abuse it's seen.  Got home and took the Ural for a fun nighttime spin around town.  Life is good  :riding:

Nice shots, Gryph. Fall Festival was down in Ellicottville this weekend. Guess the colours didn't line up for this weekend. But at 75 degrees, who's complaining! Coming up on 100 thou, eh? Nice. Many more to go, I'm sure.

The North Carolina leaves aren't showing much color. Lots of motorcyclists on the Blue Ridge Parkway, where do all those HD's come from? Not as many tourers coming through the local BMW shop compared to past years. Maybe not many folks on the road since Northern temps are dropping.  :euro

The Governor of Vermont wishes you all a happy Indigenous Peoples Day.

Well, the indigenous bits of me aren't happy about closing our land in return for a holiday. Andrew Jackson is a disposed name in some quarters. :nono

Which bits are indigenous, Ace? There might be treatment available for the accessible ones.

Beautiful spring day here in Wellington,  NZ.  Wish I had checked through my Brick. ...looks like there is some nice riding down here.  No sign of any bricks,  just one R65.
