Title: Center Stand Pivot Bolt
Post by: pallum on August 27, 2011, 10:28:36 PM
Recently noticed this bolt on my K75:

This is looking at the center stand from below the transmission, bolt is on port side.

At the right end is a nut, and at the left is the head of the bolt, circular and completely rounded. The nut seems very set in place as I can't tighten or loosen it by hand, but there's no real way I see to put a wrench to it since there's no way to hold onto the bolt head  :P  Am I missing something? Or is it ok for the nut to not be fully tightened to the stand's mounting bracket?

This is a non genuine bolt, it should be a M10x50 countersunk with allen head.
The genuine bolt is shorter and ends ~flush on the inside of the bracket.
And it should be secured with Loctite 243.

It's hard to tell what's supposed to be there from part diagrams
Then it`s time to change the source for the part diagrams, try this. (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0574&mospid=51741&btnr=46_0367&hg=46&fg=10)
