I have to replace my fork seals soon. Leaking on the LH side.
Would like to know what seals you use OEM or AFTERMARKET?
Also would like to add gaiters/boots when they're assembled.
Are there any good sources out there?
I'm near Montreal, Canada.

I use OEM seals and Rancho 1952 boots. Cut off the lower severed portion of the boot along a pleat to get a snug fit and pristine look. :hehehe

Would you suggest to order all the "O-rings" as well as the teflon sliders?

Not sure how far you intend on dismantling your forks, but it might be worth your time to inspect the brass slider bushings. If they start having excess wear, your seals can leak easier.

Search on "fork seal cleaner". It's a little thingy that pulls the dirt out of your fork seals without having to disassemble them. You might just have some dirt in the seals.

Seal Mate. The local non-BMW powersports dealer has them or you can get them online from various places (I'd use ebay).
Most fork seals aren't bad, they just have dirt and dust and bug guts in them. Seal Mate helps to pick that stuff out. My fork seals were leaking a while back and replacement of the seals wasn't necessary. I just used the Seal Mate then changed my fork oil.

Looks like that is worth a try. I think I can make one out of a lexan bottle or some suitably thin plastic. Thanks :2thumbup:
That will save me the money to maybe put towards a clutch disc or tires. :riding:

Yea I forgot to mention that others like johnny have made their own Seal Mates which work well. I was going to make my own but the local non-BMW dealer had them on the shelf so I figured I might as well spend the few bucks.
If you haven't changed your fork oil yet or in a while it might be good too. Handling and ride always seems better after. Might run your "Seal Mate" tool another time or two just to be sure.
I personally forget to pump the forks in between pickings but I could see that being a good thing to do.
