Title: Oil leak badly plugged
Post by: Filmcamera on September 28, 2016, 04:00:18 PM

I just fond this...

It is right next to the oil temperature sensor

Not sure what is suppoed to be there but I am pretty sure it isn't that mess of what looks like plastic.

It is (more or less) drip free so until I know exactly what is going on I am unwilling to tug at that mess because when I gently touched it out came a dribble of oil.

I looked at the fiches on MaxBMW and couldn't find a part number, anyone know what it is?

That is the oil pressure switch.......and the other one is water temp sensor, not oil temp sensor.

Ok thanks

So what I need is

12    12 61 1 277 642    OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

Is that right?

The leading number 12 in that string is the part's diagram number. The actual part number is 12 61 1 277 642. Clear?
