Title: K75/K100 RT/LT Fairing Parts Question
Post by: The Mighty Gryphon on August 18, 2016, 11:48:41 AM
How interchangeable are fairing parts between the K100LT/RT and the K75RT???

I need the right side lower for my K75 and can't find a used one to save my life.  However...

A very nice one for a K100LT has shown up for a reasonable price.  It looks identical to the broken part on my bike with the exception of the hole for the "crash" bar.  Is this the reason for having a different part number?  Looking at the parts fiche all the brackets and parts around it are the same between both bikes.

Any reason why it can't be made to work on my K75?

Size is the same. Hole pattern is the same. I don't see why it shouldn't fit. If you need the crash bar hole, the location I believe is marked on the inside of the lower fairing.

That's kind of what I was thinking.  Since the K100 engine is  longer the crash bar is going to be in a different position to meet the engine mount bolt.  It's easier to fill the hole in the K100 panel than repair the old panel.
