Just bought this old k75 a couple weeks ago. Been restoring it inch-by-inch and I've come across a bunch of mystery things; wiring connectors that don't go anywhere, missing hose lines, etc.
I've checked the manual have searched over and over, but I can't find out exactly what this nipple is for, or where it should be routed. I'm guessing its just a vent, and thinking of putting a line on it to just run out underneath the bike.

Just cap it off. It used to vent the crankcase to the airbox (I think) but caused all sorts of starting problems. Mine's been capped since it's first service.

Fuel tank vent...........US only.
As Chaos says, just blind it........it was a service bulletin about that......as you could get fuel into
the crankcase if overfilling the tank.

Weird, that one runs over to my throttles on my K100. Is this a normal difference, or possibly something the PO did?

Interesting. That explains the line coming from the gas tank. I was wondering if thats where it went since it fits, but i also thought it was odd to run overflow/vent to the case.

Speaking of nipples -- which everyone loves to do -- what's this? If fell on the ground while I was disconnecting something to lift the frame off the engine. Kinda looks like that other nipple except that one's sticking out of the engine.

A one way valve, is used inline on the above mentioned tank vent system.

Hang on to it. It will work as a one way valve for brake bleeding.

Part of the EPA rules only here in the states, same rules that required the CAT converter in the exhaust.
Your car/truck has the same thing(if it's new enough, and gas only), engine draws the 'vapors' from the fuel tank when running. Newer computer systems on todays cars/trucks even measure this vacuum and will give you a check engine light if it can't meet a specific threshold.(and some wonder why the CE light comes on when the don't get the gas cap tight..... :2thumbup:)
