Title: DIY Flashing LED brake lights
Post by: ccarlsonnh on July 21, 2016, 08:21:59 PM
So, decided I'd like some of those fancy flashing LED brake lights on my K75RT.  With some shopping, thought the available complete systems were  a bit  on the  pricey side for this cheapskate.  So, went the DIY route and they're not bad.  Maybe some upgrading of the LEDs at some point but definitely more visible than the (modified) stock lamps.

I am curious to know 2 things:

1. I've seen led lamps that are around 30-50 watts , any idea how those fare in brightness?

2. Can the electronics handle essentially that much draw from a bulb?

A 30-50 watt LED is HUGE!!! My LED driving lights are only 10w each and are incredibly bright.  The LED strips I used here are 6 watts each I think and plenty bright  enough.  I don't  know how much current the visi-tec module can handle but I suspect it's less than 30 to 50 watts.  But, check their website to be sure.

Have a great day!
