has anybody had experience with Putoline oil from the netherlands.
i have been using Spectro golden four, 20w50 in my 1992 K1100 for the past couple of years with smooth running and no problems
however my local shop has decided to stop stocking the spectro brand and the salesman tried to talk me into some Putoline sport 4 semi synthetic 10w40
i had never heard of it before . apparently they specialize in oil for motorcycles only.
any comments ???

I stumbled upon here by chance. Maybe my answer could help you any further. As far as I know, it's pretty good oil. I threw it in my previous bike, a honda cbr125r. However, 20w50 is recommended for these bikes. It also depends on what kind of oil is in your bike right now: you shouldn't mix semi-synthetic and synthetic, for example.

On the attached chart from the K1100 Riders Manual, 10w40 isn't excluded as an oil choice but it has a narrower high temperature operating temperature range that shouldn't be exceeded.
