Title: Fuel pump storage

Does it really make a lot of difference whether a fuel pump is stored dry or immersed , i.e. In kerosene as suggested in this post --

You should stop the internals from going rusty, which you could do by putting a little light oil or WD40 into it then capping off the inlet and outlet. They don't get stored immersed in kerosene by the manufacturers.
