This thread will be dedicated to turning my 1994 BMW K75S into a cafe bike... more or less at least.
-
When I first got this bike I knew that the transmission was bad. During repairs i soon found out that the drivshaft was bad as well. Since then i have given the whole rear end of the bike a complete overhaul. New used 5 speed transmission, custom driveshaft, the previous owner installed a new used final drive (I wonder if I can find another final drive with taller gears?). Shortly afterwards though I snapped my clutch cable. I have found another one on ebay, just waiting for funds to order it.
-
Here are some photos from the overhaul
-
More photos of the tranny and shaft replacement.
-
So on my quest to build my dream bike This little bastard decided to snap on me
-
Aha!!! I got so excited it fired up on the first try. All of that hard work finally paid off.

That does not look like a K75S. Looks like a base model/75C.
What is the VIN?
-
I don't have it on me, I'll check when I get home.

It's a hybrid.
Rear brake would be a drum, the final drive ratio will by lower ratio too.Forks are the next distinction.
Dressed as a C.

94 S model vin's start with 0154xxx
i don't see any S bike parts on yours.
-
A stock K75 wouldn't have bar weights either. It's hybridized, like Dude said. A C would have a slightly differing headlight assembly, too. It looks to me like a Standard that got a C-bar. It's the perfect candidate for cosmetic surgery. Pretty good pics, Devil.

What's body type model:rs

Reisesport
Where'd you get that abbreviation?
-
So it has a c bar, does that mean that it's a mid/high rise handlebars? The first digits of the vin are 1057

Don't be coy. Answer my question, Devil.

I'm the non-op

On the nonop. But if this is a hybrid then the fucker I bought it from lied to me...I just bought a clutch cable for low rise handle bars too.
-
I thought for sure the rear disc brake was a give away
-
Not to mention it has a 17 in the rear. It's deffinetly not stock but I'm 99 percent sure that it's an S.
-
It's a beautiful evening. I think I hear barred owls hooting in the distance.
-

Wrong first digits. The VIN usually refers to the last 7 digits in that long series. The first part is other codes saying where it was made and other info. When I said first four it was the first four of that 7. What are the last 7 digits of your vin?
VIN Last 7 digits should be 0154xxx. Mine was the first 94 S made. Vin 0154291. Yours would be higher than 291.
You can also put your last 7 into realoem.com and it will tell you what it is.
-
Yep, those are barred owls all right.
-
I think that you guys are right. It's a standard
-
0134935 are the last seven digits.
-
So then let me ask you guys this. If I ordered a low rise clutch cable will it still fit these C handlebars? Really wish someone hadn't already had at my bike, now it's even harder to find parts for it.

At maxbmw there's a cable labeled "low/medium applications." If that is the one you bought and you do have a C-bar, let not your heart be troubled and avoid wasting valuable cursing time by wishing for the impossible.

Actually, since we have confirmed your do not have an S model, looks like you have a stock base model. No mods. Easy to look up parts for now.
