Title: Transmission and drive shaft replacement on my 1994 BMW K75S
Post by: Devil K on June 16, 2016, 01:20:25 AM
So my transmission went out a couple of months ago. I've since then replaced it, however, during the removal stages I found that the splines in the driveshaft was worn out. So I ordered a custom one that someone in here recommended. The cheapest transmission that I could find was from Bavarian Cycle works for $225. The new custom driveshaft was $397.99 total. Attached is the new tranny and shaft.

This is the old drive shaft, factory. Upon closer examination it was bone dry making it pretty safe to say that drive shaft failure was due to a lack of maintenance.

And here is the new one. I wish they made a custom or aftermarket tranny but I don't know. I never looked into it.
