Hi, when I removed my bags I noticed that 2 of the 3 rivets holding the latch that secured the bag to the bike are gone. the 2 that are gone are the ones behind the mechanism so to re rivet you would have to get that part out of the way. I don't see any way to remove it, what is the fix for this?

answered my own question, just put the rivets in from the bag side, duh!

The saddlebags can be shimmed by gluing pieces of rubber to the bag where the bag contacts the mounting bracket. This keeps them from bouncing and also quiets them down. Helps to keep the latch rivets intact. Also do not strap to the bags so that they are lifted up (ie Bungee Buddies.) The saddlebags are designed to hang fully down. The surest way to pull out the latch rivets and bounce the saddlebag down the road is to strap them up. Also, make a small plate for the inside when you re-rivet the latch on. This helps to distribute the weight on the latch more evenly.
