Title: Western North Carolina
Post by: TrueAce on May 29, 2016, 06:54:27 PM
Great Memorial Day weekend in Western NC.........good weather, back roads the tourists don't know about, away from the crowded Blue Ridge Parkway and the crowd of posers at Deals Gap. My son Charlie came up from Atlanta for the weekend to ride, and thought I'd share a few pics. If you detect any bias in choice of bikes, just consider Charlie took the pics.

You picked the better weekend.   I was out there last weekend in the pouring rain.

Yeah, left Nashville last Friday of that weekend (in my truck) in a horrendous early morning storm, and beat it to Asheville two hours before it inundated all of Western NC. Wisely stayed indoors.........can't imagine how you rode in that, especially at higher elevations! But all week was beautiful.and I rode everyday. It's nice in May before summer temps and hordes overwhelm everything.

Nice, clean looking K you've got there. The kid's bike ain't bad, either! Whose is more comfortable??

They are both real comfortable, but the K gets the edge. On handling, the low CG and shorter wheel base makes the R9T really sporty. Can't fling the big K around as nimbly!

Shorter wheelbase?   Looks like the rear wheel had been yanked out like a drag bike. ...

Nice  :riding: So, Ace the matching bikes aren't working for my son either :hehehe, BUT, I found a nice k75.  Problem is it's an RT and he hates the fairing :bmwsmile

Yeah, must have lost my response in the Moderator's pit. Was saying that the R9T has a bolt on capability to change seats and a lot more, you can go back to stock in about 30 minutes. BMW wants folks to "customise" like HD, tons of Russell Sands, etc. Add-ons  available. Bike is quick, light, nimble. But ride the 75S or 100RS? No, Charlie favors go-fast.
