Hi everybody
My dear old brick (K75 '87 no abs) has developed an irritating feature during my last runs.
The warning light in the dash (the one with the triangle), has begun flickering at speed - usually around 110 km/h, but also at other speeds.
Ive checked that the bulbs are not blown, at that the wires are fine. So what would you guys suggest should be the culprit of this behaviour?
In my knowledge the warning light only lights up at start-up, until both brakes has been used. It also lights up at speeds over 160 km/h Ive noticed ;)

Fault in the bulbs, fault in the sockets, pinched wire, fault in the wire connections, instrument plug needing cleaning, developing faults in brake lever switches. I'd go over everything carefully, again. Check the rear brake switch wiring connections. A couple of these bulb monitor dramas originated with pinched wiring in that area.

When I had this it was the front brake light switch.

If you find my thread on 'ABS lights' there is a part number for a cheap switch from eBay.

Johnny was that the abs that blocked the wheel?
My bike is a non-abs model, so I'm thinking that theres no danger in driving with the flickering light.
I'll try cleaning the contacts, and checking the bulbs again, as the weather here in Denmark has been quite wet the last few weeks, and might have affected the system.

not following you... i didnt say anything about abs or wheel... figger that must be code words for hashish butter...

The light is a bulb monitor. In your bike's case the light's function is to tell you that the brake and/or tail light is not functioning. If it is flickering, rear bulbs may be flickering as well. Check the rear light wiring for wear and pinching along its path too. Maybe you can find somebody to watch the rear lights when the bulb monitoring light is flickering. There may be a fault in the bulb monitor itself, but check your tail light and brake light system completely first.

I just read the nose-down remark as something to do with blocking the wheel, hence it being a handful :)
I'll check the whole system when it stops raining again.

cruise control ... faulty brake switch would set it free ... engine braking ... at 50 or 60 mph over limit ... no hands (maybe takin' pics of donks) ... :yow ... whack ...

Learning something new about the lords great english everyday ;) And apparently also about the functionality of a speedholder.
See what owning a brick might lead to !
