Title: Supping up the 740cc on my K75S
Post by: Devil K on May 04, 2016, 08:14:06 PM
Is it possible to push these brick motors even further, because I mean now my bike is nothing special it'll hit around 100-120, so what I'm asking is do they make performance parts for this bike so that it will hit a "ton and a half"?

there used to be some turbo kits but good luck finding one now.  Not much in the hot rod department for bricks, I suppose you could add nitrous, much easier to move up to a K1200 or a crotch rocket.

It seems like you would run out of gearing. I didn't make note of the tach reading but on a steep freeway downhill I got my K75 up to 120 mph. I've corrected my speedometer to be accurate according to GPS. Side and top cases were on (sticker under the seat says not to exceed 80 mph with side cases on...ooops).

Well at 80 mph I'm turning about 5400 rpm. 5400/80=67.5 rpm per mile per hour. 67.5x120 mph=8100 rpm (approx but accurate according to the math). Redline is 8600 rpm )though the manual says max operating rpm is 8400). 8600 rpm/67.5=127.41 mph. So according to my theory, the maximum speed a K75C could go is 127 mph as that is the speed attained by redlining the engine (in 5th gear).

You could get the bike to accelerate quicker like with a Luftmeister turbo if you can find one, or find a bike with one, but you can only go so much faster, unless you changed out the final drive gearing.

If you want a faster bike I'd suggest buying a faster bike

A K1 could hit 150 (so they said) but that was with considerably more engine, Motronic, and super special bodywork

3000mph is a lot to ask of a K75 but an unbridled willingness is evident here to help you achieve this goal. There are certainly many good, low-cost suggestions in this thread already.

Lol when I said a ton and a half I was talking old school. a "ton" means 100 MPH so a ton and a half means 150 MPH and where could I find one of these chips?

A glasspack sounds awesome but I would like to make it to wear the exhaust cuts right and goes behind the tire and out the other side. Also I'm going for that cafe look on my bike.

I tried pillion with rack steering but it was too damned distracting.

Easiest way to hit a ton and a half is switch out the speedo with a KPH unit.

Clearly, I should chosen differently between the Old School as A Second Language class and the tomato bisque buffet when the choices were offered at the Senior Center.

A liter would have a better chance of reaching a ton and a half

Sell that sissy little K75 before you destroy it and yourself, Devil. There's a K100 Turbo for sale on the Maine CL.

...and the tomato bisque buffet...

That's the kind of supper I though we were talking about. Taking your K75s out to a nice dinner... maybe a nice bottle of k-bike whine... is it a coincidence that a 750ml bottle of wine exactly equals the volume of a 750cc BMW?  I think not.

My K75s does the ton-and-a-half in kilometers/hour. Just change to a metric speedo - it will seem like you are going way faster - you might even make it to 200.

Regularly used to get 200kph on my K75S.220kph is possible too, with a small amount of patience. My speedo is spot on with my gps!Definately,Just need some "Bottle".That was how I tested the tuning although it never failed me, any time.
'Must admit I'm a bit of a sissy, now, though.Havn't quite turned into a girl,yet...now,they make you walk if you get caught over 140kph.You can do that just by accident.....officer.Licence gone.

Er,hem they can be thrashed but at this speed the instruments are jumpin all over the place and, well 220kph might get clipped as the needle swings up and down and looking down needs to be so quick you see what you are imagining.
