Title: How many spline gears to lube? Two?
Post by: bizzaro on April 23, 2016, 08:58:05 AM
Howdy,
So I have done the infamous clutch spline lube, (input shaft I guess, splines that go into the clutch from the tranny) on my 1994 K1100LT para-lever. From the back of the tranny is a u joint attached to the drive shaft that goes the the final drive. There are splines on the end of the drive shaft that I intend to lube with guard dog as well.  So my question is, are these the only two splines that need to be lubed, or is there another somewhere in the final drive area that should be lubed? I have looked and searched the forum, and I am sure it is here somewhere. I am hoping someone will help me expedite the process and just tell me?  I would like to wrap this up today and get back on the road. At any rate the tough one is done.

I posted in your other thread, but here as well. Note... This is only for Paralever FD setups.
The more critical splines are the drive shaft intermediate(middle) splines. These are the splines that have movement when the final drive moves up/down.
The other shaft yokes are kept stationary with circlips, so they don't move.
