there are not one but 2 red and yellow k1s and 1 blue and yellow k1 all with under 21000 miles each priced $7990 to $15600 someone find them proper owners
-
Could only find one K1 when I did a search on Craig's list...
...but I did find an ad for another K1 "cafe/scrambler". :hehehe
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/5473826875.html
Let's see, $7250 - 1500 = $5750.
$5750 for yellow K1 wheels and swingarm vs. $6 for a can of yellow Rustoleum.
Who said the cafe guys aren't rocket scientists? :dunno2:
-
sorry but we all know where e bay is and searching bmw k1 is childs play
-
You're not interested in that two day old post of an '85 K100RT turbo on Craigslist for $2K then, BAMBAM?

Bike may have a bit of an identity crisis. At least he got the price right at $1500. I like the "needs tune up" remark

WTF? Are you serious?
I mean...
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
I think I figured it out. You're like 16 years old, aren't you BamBamBamBam?
-
He's a college-educated debater. You can tell that by his writing skill.
-
well at least you have proven capitols dont work as i used them in main heading which said E BAY and people are looking on craigs list for them i stand corrected
-
i am actually interested in turbo listing thanks i will go try to find it
-
well at least you have proven capitols dont work . . .
You deserve the credit for proving that BAMBAM; it's too late for modesty.

I still like the Triumph wannabe.
Wish I had the scratch for the blue one.
-
I wish I could collect them all. Would look handsome in every room of the house
-
thanks for your help scud
So that was it. All you had to write in your original post was that you didn't know how to make links to websites, BAMBAM. That's understandable.
Here are a couple ways to do it. Highlight the web address of the page you want to link. If you have a Mac press ⌘ and C together to copy it then press ⌘ and V together to paste it where you want it, and there it will be. With Windows use ctrl C and ctrl V for the same thing.
Give it a try.
-
Or right click on the address and left click on Copy.
Right click the cursor in your reply and left click on Paste.
-
Thanks all for your Help I forget that unlike myself everyone else isnt tearing threw ebay on a daily basis looking for new and exciting buys have i mentioned im looking for a turbo k100 kit or donor hehehe thanks again

You're welcome, although I am a nefarious rapscallion.
For future reference, if you want forum members to look at, or discuss something on the web, it's common courtesy to provide a link - rather than expect each viewer to do their own search. Look at the other fine gentlemen trying to help you.
I had a R100CS when the K1s came out. I remember it was a big deal, because BMW finally built a bike with more than 100HP. It was going to change everything and let them compete with the Japanese bikes of the day. The full-wrap fairing and aerodynamics were shockingly cool - heck even yellow wheels were cool at the time (this is when every strip mall in america was pink and teal). These are historically significant bikes - but somebody should ride the piss out of them.

A little friendly advice from King James and his scribes, Scud:
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
That may not apply to residents of California though. :yes
-
I plan on it with mine
-
Thanks scud for you helpful insight suggestions greatly appreciated

nah. just "café" the crap out of'em and park them in a garage. seems to be the thing to do with all the nice K's these days.
grrrrrrrr......
-
Y'know, I always wanted to get one of them 1965 mustang convertibles with a 289 and 4 speed to put one of those fiberglass Bugatti bodies on. Or maybe make a dune buggy with an old 911.

I think it may be fair to say, too, that many seemingly clapped-out Ks are also being restored to cafe status which could continue demand for a supply of engine, driveline parts, steering and other critical parts. That may good for all of us.

Or convert a Karmann Ghia into a beer cooler.

I just saw the african mad k100 powered home made car video and i think i have my summer project
-
i think i have my summer project
You could always pull the engine from the Hammer and use it instead. I'd watch that video.
-
That would be a torque monster with 115 ft lbs at rear wheel on the dyno but waaaaaaaaaaaay funnn
-

Yes, we are, and you were right the first time with the "s" in the title except the "s" should have been lowercase to prevent confusion with K-bike S-model designation. There is no end to the facets of learning on this site, BAMBAM. It's the equivalent of Seafoam for grammar.
Every one should enroll in and support this worthy organization (http://www.apostrophe.org.uk) right now.
-
OMFG! I am sure they have put a hit out on my for flagrant abuse. Just what I need to go with my NGK plug leads.

There's still time to repent your abuse. That at least may help you get a ventilated room in Hell for using the NGKs.
-
The learning curve is steep but my brick with crest it with ease
-
Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ridden a K1? I wonder if that big ol" (proper apostrophe use for the deleted letter"d") front fender provides an increased airflow which reduces heat to the rider? I could make one out of pieces of one of those yellow plastic trash cans I bet.
tom, sitting here with time on hand and expanded mind
-
I want to say that johnny has. I remember him writing about the riding position being rather uncomfortable for him but not sure if he reported on heat
-
after riding a k1 i almost fell over cause my knees would not work and i couldnt getts my feet off the pegs...
it was hot that day... the k1 motobrick is hot... period...
-
When I quit riding about 3 years ago, and sold a bunch of bikes to pay for 2 titanium connecting rods installed in my hips, I had to stop because I could not lift my feet to the pegs to start on hills or just ride off. Heat instead would have been welcome.
It's strange, but it seems like I just fell into one of the best bikes for me again.
Same thing happened when I got my R90/6 years ago at an auction. The mechanics who worked on it from Engle Motors in KC were there, but stopped when I bid $1400. Rode that bike for at least 12 years. What a bike, although it wasn"t an S. I was so thrilled to get it that I missed the camper trailer sitting right next to it!!
I'm liking this 94 better every day!! Hmmmm, 94 bike, 1894 30-30?? coincidence.....I think not. :machinegun:
