The clock in my motometer is toast. Ed had a spare but that one's junk too. We tried to clean the corrosion on the circuit board, but it's so small and fine we didn't get any results.
The clock is a simple separate module once you open the cluster. It is listed as a separate part on real OEM (62111459368)... but for $225! :mbird WTF it's a cheapo digital clock, the kind you can now get for $2 at a dollar store. I grant they would have been a little pricier in 1986, but even so...
Seems they go bad a lot, so before searching for used ones (which might have the same issue), does anyone know if that clock was used in other things besides Ks or might be available elsewhere? It was definitely used up to the K1100s.

I suppose the best way to go is to get another BMW clock. As I vaguely recall from when I had mine apart to do the 12 hour conversion there are three major components to the clock module. The LCD display, the driver IC, and the circuit board. I think the circuit board is proprietary and probably unavailable. The IC is a standard Philips product as is the LCD disply and should be available from a source like Mauser Electronics.
Getting the parts is one thing, and making the repair is another. That circuit board looks to be pretty fragile. I know I could never replace anything on it with the tools I have at home.

When I get into the front end work I need to do, soon, I'll swap the clock parts to find which bit is toatsu.

Someone used to sell them on Ebay for about $99 as I recall. Try a search.
-
Nope, but there are a bunch of silly handle-bar mounted clocks designed to look like wristwatches. :hehehe
At $99 I wouldn't bother anyway (you can get an entire used cluster for less than that), I'd just brew up some kind of workaround or maybe just forget about it.

I have a cluster from my parts bike that I was going to rob the bulbs from, and maybe a few other bits that are in better shape than the one on my bike. I could sell you the balance, including the clock. Send a PM if interested.

Simple answer yes, you can even use a K100 one.

Bought the rt clocks ,pins on K75s are flat ,pins on rt are round but thankfully all the appropriate lights come on and even the rev counter is working, just a run now to see if speedo works. Thanks for the advice😁.

The OP was asking about the digital clock, not the MotoMeter/cluster/instruments/clocks, if anyone knows a sub source. :curvy-road

i'm still working on my K75 but i'm not at the gauges yet...
in preparation during down time, i bought a clock / voltmeter / temp device to fit in the clock. https://goo.gl/fDwxPL
i was thinking if i can fab some mount for it, it seems like a good fit.
a shaded piece of plastic or film behind the clock glass to hide the nakedness of it, and to dim the LED for night rides.
the push button is almost the same dimension. the clip should work, just need to mount the unit and put the probe somewhere. or not even bother with the temp.

Did you reuse that silly little black plastic frame? Because I broke the one from the instrument cluster on my parts bike and should I ever need that little black frame thingy, I'm missing one now.
Not that it matters -- just sayin'.

Or ya could buy this and be done with it. Not a bad price either.
