Title: Keys from code
Post by: Oehmig on April 12, 2016, 01:25:46 PM
Hey folks. Just picked up a new gas tank lid for my k75 cafe project. Being that its not orignal, my ignition key doesnt unlock it and it didnt come with a key. Is there anyway to get this cut from a code? Just need to figure out how to open the thing if i'm gonna use it. Donr mind having two keys. Any thoughts?

Welcome, Oehmig!

How about posting a picture of your bike in the Klassic K-Bike section?

Look at all the categories in the Workshop and in the Technical Library card catalog. Often you'll be able to find a solution to your challenge from others' experience without even posting a question.

Read here (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=494.0) for instructions on how to remove the lock from the cap and how to rekey.

I think that the best path is to take the tank to a locksmith.  Take your your ignition key and tell them you want to open the tank with the key.

O ye of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
