Title: Intermediate Flange O-ring
Post by: jjs1234 on April 07, 2016, 11:31:36 AM
I was talking off the Intermediate flange to get the outside of it sand-blasted to paint it.

Anyway the One-way-gear (is this the sprague clutch?) has a rubber o-ring on it. Needless to say it should be replaced since its hard and feels like it could break.Max-BMW says I have to buy a whole unit to get it... $500, which is a definite no. I am trying to replace all the seals on the engine- including any o-rings too.

Anyway can this be replaced by itself? I included pictures. Unsure on dimensions because Id like to get a Viton if they have the size.  :dunno2:

Thanks!! :bmwsmile

(On a minor note: Where else in the engine are their rubber O-rings besides here and the Clutch/Engine output shaft?)  :yes

THE O-RING IS #11 ON CLYMERS GUIDE (I took a picture for reference)....
