My 1985 K100rt's brake light stays on.occasionally I can shut the bike off and it will stay off on the next start. The fuklds are topped off. Is it a bad electrical connection.

There is a little plunger switch by the front and back brake levers. One of them is probably sticking. Try squirting some silicon or wd40 on them, if lite is still stuck on unplug them one at a time to find the culprit.

I'll start at those two places. Thanks

I meant to say the light on the dashboard not the actual brake light. It goes out occasionally.

You probably have weak wiring to the tail light assembly bulb contacts, dirty or fractured contacts, a short in the wiring to the brake lights, weak grounding or failing bulbs, Don. I've found the monitoring unit itself to be reliable.

The light on the dash lets you Know that your brake lights are being activated. It will stay on if either one of your brakes is not activating your rear light.
