Title: K75RTA?
Post by: darthbane71 on March 02, 2016, 12:36:20 AM
Hey everyone. As far as my knowledge went, my bike is a '93 K75RT. But rooting around in the little hidey hole under the seat I found the warranty info and on the owner info it lists as a K75RTA. Now this is handwritten, so it could just be mistaken, but is this a thing? If so, what does it mean?

It's a thing. There are many references to that model from Google search.  Have you tried dropping your bike's VIN into an online checker to see what comes back?

I did Google it, but all I got were parts references or mentions but nothing explaining what it means. I did run a vin check a while back but I don't remember anything odd. Maybe I'll check again tomorrow

The "A" probably indicates "Authorities". It may have started out as a police bike somewhere. "Authorities" is a category of special BMW bike parts, too. As there are RT"P" bikes for police, your model may be another way of expressing that.

Ah, that makes sense! Thanks for the help. I'll see if I can read up on it.

Ah, that makes sense!
It does but it may not be correct. Let us know if you find out more.
