I have seen this Brick around locally twice, once at a local swap meet. However I was unable to talk to the owner. In QLD we get half price registration for a single seat bike. But most of the conversions are pretty ugly where as this looks very tasty. My mate would probably do time to get his hands on one. It was made in Japan and was quite pricey when new, and I believe quite rare. The bike can be viewed on ( BMW K1004 - landbridge.net.au ). Was this ever available in the US or UK.
Regards Martin.

Has anybody asked why that is, Martin, or would that be impolite?
-
Good question probably has something to do with the Governments theory. That Motorcyclists are stupid and dangerous, and should be encouraged to only kill themselves, and not take a Pillion passenger with them???? :dunno
Regards a now perplexed Martin.

Thus, motorcycle purchase is made more affordable. Damn clever electorate down there, Martin.
-
Love that seat! Nice little storage bin behind it.
-
That is such a great look to...
-
I occasionally get on the internet and see if I can find one, If you go to the site on my first post, there are other pictures. I like the fact that it also uses the original indicators and tail lights.
Regards Martin.

First one like that I've ever seen, and I get around.
-
now you guys have got me to thinking. I saw this setup on a 1980 rx50 yamaha special, a dealer promotion for the "Special" Yamaha line. Most were broken because kids put their GF on the back, and sometimes heavier passengers.\
My brick k1100rs comes to mind.
If a crafty person made a seat like that seen above, and then made it so the rear section folded upward and backward....forming a pillion seat and a backrest...would it throw the earth out of orbit, or would it be a good thing for all of mankind? :popcorm
I think i will start on this little project just for fumes....er .. I mean fun

Mate who would probably cut his right arm off for one keeps on saying it would be easy to make. But he has that many projects going on it would probably be the year 3000 before he gets around to it. Unfortunately although I am pretty handy with most things, I have never fiberglassed. :dunno

I have done some boat transoms and hulls, but i was dreaming of stainless steel.

I see the aliens stole my brain in 76 when I tried to outrun the spaceship and light in Adair County on new hwy6. The 73 olds just could not outrun them.

both front and rear would benefit from that type of setup.

As stated in the first post, we get half price Registration for a single seat. And most are ugly conversions, but I would have the Motoco if I could find one.

As far as the Motoco product is concerned, that may not be the case, Marshall. Check this (https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.motoco.co.jp/&prev=search) out. Go to Single seat in the left menu. One example is for an R but the text above indicates that K-bikes are still in the mix.
-
there you go martin! maybe you can buy one!
-
Good effort Laitch but that is not the same seat, it is just a café style seat and hump. I tried contacting Motoco direct and they no longer make that seat and have no intention of remanufacturing. A great shame as I believe they would sell better now. Although from what I found out they would probably sold for over $1500 Au when they first came out so would probably sell for at least $2500 Au plus now. :yow I think I will go for a ride and check out my new GPS and perhaps sit under a Palm tree.
Regards a daydreaming Martin.
