Hi,
I'm trying to remove the drive shaft on a K100 except I can't even see the snap ring that holds the universal joint to the gearbox output shaft.
Has anyone had this problem? I took the engine off the bike to swap out with a new engine and this problem has stopped the work. I can see where the snap ring (or circlip) is supposed to be from looking at the new engine but the universal joint seems to be too far forward and it's covering the snap ring.
Thanx for any help.

the universal joint seems to ...............covering the snap ring.
Then it's correct mounted, the snap ring reside in a groove inside the uni joint.
It's supposed to expand into this groove when you pull off the driveshaft.

Get a big set of channel locks. Grab the end of the driveshaft. The give it some sharp hits with a hammer. It will snap free

OK thanx, I'll try that tomorrow.

Thanx, that worked real easy. None of the manuals showed that technique. Didn't even have to hit it hard.

Yea buddy, the manual cannot provide all details. Congrats. When you reinstall, pull on it to make sure it snapped in place

OK thanx.
