I wasn't sure where to put this, please move if necessary.
The K100RS in my avitar is my bike and it is a bit ratty. I have recently come across a fairing which will save me fixing cracks, etc.
At present, the tank is White with Red and Blue accents, the rest of the bike is gunmetal grey I suppose you'd call it with lots of fading and wear marks. I had intended to leave the bike as is, but a red metallic fairing on top of the other different coloured bits I feel is a bit too much, so I am considering removing fairing, tank, etc and re spraying them.
The tank doesn't leak (It is a second hand one to replace the original tank that had given up the ghost), but I feel that it would be good do do what I can to extend it's life while I have it off.
Any ideas?
I was thinking of a R1150GS Mandarin colour or an Orange that was a bit brighter. I have always wanted a hot rod or bike in black with Orange flames licking up from the bottom and that is also a possibility. My final thought was BMW Black with white pinstriping like the old pre 1970s bikes.

only thing that ruins K tanks is water sitting at the lowest point and corroding the aluminum. you could coat the inside but just running lots of gas through it, not letting it sit and the occasional can of gas treatment worked for me.

+1 to that, Chaos.
You should paint it in a scheme that pleases you, Snowy. You could always drop the image into Photoshop, Gimp or Picassa then use a sampler to color various areas—kind of like paint-by-numbers, only with electrons instead.
-
+2 Mick it's your bike paint or modify to suit yourself.
Regards Martin.

Pick a color that when you see it parked in the garage it makes you want to walk over and hit the starter.
Regarding orange, there was a thread here in the last week that had a photo of a brick in Lamborghini Orange. Looked pretty hot.

"At present, the tank is White with Red and Blue accents, "
that looked like at one point in time it was a nice representation of the BMW ///M Motorsport racing colors!
it is your bike...paint it to match what is cool to YOU!

Thanks. The fairing I have and the seat assembly I am getting are red, it may be easiest to just paint the side covers and side fairing panels and guard. Decisions, decisions. I need a round tuit.
The tank was salvaged from another bike by the previous owner.
-
I used have a round Tuit a lot rarer than the square ones, but I dropped it and I will probably never get a round Tuit again. :musicboohoo: Martin.

Looking at that fairing, it is in need of a respray as well, so I may as well do the lot.
