Title: No Corn Gas/ Southern Ontario
Post by: kris on January 02, 2016, 10:32:44 AM
This will appeal to those living in the Southern Ontario area or to those brickers riding through...when it warms up a tad. All grades of Esso gasoline (stations west of Burlington, Ontario and down to Windsor and Niagara Falls...I'm guessing) apparently has no ethanol. I spoke to a tanker driver dropping a load and asked why. The Nanticoke Esso refinery, on the shores of Lake Erie, decided to go the corn-free route. You will notice there is no "contains up to 10 per cent ethanol" sticker on their pumps. Be sure to check before you pump.  As most of us know premium grade (91 octane around here, although some up to 94) usually does not contain ethanol (Shell, Costco, Ultramar, etc.). Pioneer fuels apparently  contain corn in all their grades, as do PetroCanada fuels. You can also check for corn-free fuel on pure-gas.org in your area (North America).

Happy motoring!

Hopefully this is a trend.

Cheers, Kris. Good to know there's more than Shell with 0-ethanol.

I'm dead sure that the OZ government is only going the Ethanol route to get brownie points with the farmers and the environmentalists. Hopefully they will see common sense, and not go down that path. But I'm not holding my breath as government and common sense apparently don't go together.
Living in hope Martin.
