Yes, I know this is a K bike forum, but I trust the resourcefulness of this forum more than some of the others so I figured it's worth a shot...
Specimen is a 2005 R1200RT approaching 60K miles.
Issue, which is soon to be determined, are most certainly dished input splines on the gearbox/transmission and the clutch friction disc. For argument sake, let's say this is definitely what it is for now with a slight lean toward input shaft bearings (front and/or rear). The bike runs like a dream and everything is completely solid (valves, throttles balanced, final drive is in good order, drive shaft is in good order and so on).
My RT is a K26 series R1200RT in the 0368 and 0388 class with a 3/2005 build date.

All I really need is the input shaft and bearings, which should be fine. Where the heck can I find a breakdown of the individual shaft and bearing parts and determine/confirm what will swap and what will not?
I'm told I can find one in decent shape online for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Thinking out loud... If I could find the VIN of a bike that used this transmission, I could use the last seven digits to pull it up in REALOEM or MAXBMW or ??? and see the individual part breakdowns. Right? Any other thoughts?

you can do the same thing with the part number. just put it in the search box on realoem and it will tell you what vehicles the part is found on. make sense?

Absolutely does, but it does not allow me to view a tear-down of the individual transmission and see the individual parts. While this particular transmission isn't compatible with my RT, I'm thinking the input shaft, bearings and possibly some other guts may.
I'm not missing anything, am I?

Okay... Thoughts? I'm seeing triple right now with all of these damn numbers! And, remember, all I need are some of the guts.
Never-minding my original part number... According to Real OEM (see pic), 6515 superseded 9909, which appears to fit my RT (see first highlighted row). I think I'm in!
I just wish I could see a darn tear-down.
