Curious what kind of service I should expect from works Performance. What kind of experiences have others had with their service department
About a month ago after a brief email exchange with Ned Owens I sent them a leaking Street Tracker shock off my K75S. Post office tracking shows it was delivered to Works on Thursday, November 12 at 12:10pm. Ned had indicated to me that as of late October their turnaround times were running between 1 and 2 weeks.
After nearly 4 weeks, I have yet to hear anything from them. Zip, zero, nothing. Last week I sent two emails on Tuesday and Friday requesting confirmation that they received my shock and so far have had no response.
Is this their normal way of doing business? Should I be concerned or just chill out and be glad I won't be riding the bike until next Spring? Is this another one of these flaky hobby businesses where they work when there is nothing better to do?

I can't say about the service department, but I sent an email 3 or 4 days ago if they haven't responded to it as a returning customer.
I bought a shock for my K100 from them last year and am inqiring about a set for my RD350...
If they're so busy as to ignore repeat sales then that is probably a sign they may be understaffed/overworked. It IS the holiday season so seems likely.
However, patience has never been one of my strong points so I intend to call them Monday.

Update: Phoned Ned Thursday. Shock is there, needs a bunch of work. He didn't say why they didn't get back to me. Will be replacing reservoir, bladder, seal, and putting in new longer shaft to get up to stock length(P.O must have been a midget). Hope it gets here soon. Am suffering through some great riding weather without the S.
Damn, wish I had known about that Motobrick discount. Just paid $216 for the work yesterday.
