Title: Rain under the gas door
Post by: F14CRAZY on October 25, 2015, 01:56:28 PM
This has been going on for a while and I know it isn't exactly a good thing.

After being in the rain or washing I'll find water to be sitting in the space between the rubber gasket under the gas door and the little spring loaded door. Why is rain getting in here? I figured that the little hole underneath on the left is supposed to drain water before it gets down there. I had the tank off earlier while diagnosing my driving lights and I shot some brake cleaner down that hole and it's clear.

There a way to fix this?

Are you sure it's not getting there through/around the key lock assy? I have heard of this happening.

There is a repair gasket set available.

Also check that the drain isn't blocked, ....small hole on the left side of the filler cap.

Also, sometimes the hinged lid has been installed backwards and the drain hole doesn't line up with the drain tube.
