the K75s i bought came with barbacks installed.
i would like to remove them and put the s handlebar in the stock location.
the PO did not have the stock upper parts of the handlebar mounts and bolts.
if i pull the barbacks, can i use the upper part of the barback mount in place of the stock part?
thanks!

On mine, the upper part of the barbacks is the stock part. You should just need the shorter bolts.

After hour's worth of wrench time—including coffee breaks, stargazing, tweeting and unfastening a wire or two—you'll answer your question yourself. It's a six bolt operation on my bike to remove the dash pad and decouple the handlebar from its mount.

thanks Y'all. i stared at it and figured it should work, but did want to invest that whole hour (including coffee, donuts, reading motobrick, moving wires, etc) only to find out the upper part of the mount did not fit in stock location for some reason...or the bolts would not work.....
upper part of mount does not look like stock part.

you might not even need shorter bolts. The front ones are fine, loose the middle long ones and the back ones should be short. I think mine just came with the spacer hunks of aluminum and the 2 longer bolts, but that was many decades and brain cells ago.

An MRI or CAT scan might show something. Is there an Urgent Care facility in the neighborhood? You'll want to get in there before the weekend.
-
didn't need the MRI thankfully. the barback "top" piece worked in place of the stock "top" piece. back to stock.

I took my barbacks out thinking it may cut wind noise, but hated the ergonomics without them. Put them back the next day. To each their own, eh?
-
who knows...i may put them back too...maybe. gotta give it a try in the setup bmw intended!
heck, it only takes less than an hour, including coffee breaks, stargazing, and tweeting! :riding:

IMO, the problem with those bars is not their height or position. It is the fact that they're too narrow. If I put my hands farther out on the grips, they magically become much more comfortable.
YMMV,
