Agree - that does fall the right side of the mechanical art/dogs dinner dividing line.

Not a fan of most Kafe Konversions. However, some get the lines right.
For me, this one is close. The fairing, tank and cleaned up bars&wiring are great.
Only nit-pick is that like most of the Kafe Konversions I hate, the seat line is off in regards to the tank. Which is a shame because the rear cowl by itself is beautiful.
If the owner:
A) Lifted the back of the rear cowl/seat section
and
B) Smoothed the bottom transition from the front of the seat pan to the tank........He would, imho, have a true work of art.

Very nice, clean look, sorta retro 90S. But nit-picking would ask why the tank tabs were done the way they are.....front appears molded-in as opposed to trimmed, and the rear seems untouched. What's with that after an obviously expensive redesign of bodywork? Just sayin'.....

I'm not one for cafe conversions generally, but this one is well executed. I like the dimples of the tailpiece that are echoes of the dimples in the tank. The colouring is neutral and pleasing. Agree that the line from the tank along the seat could be better. Beautiful photography too.

You are correct......the K100 platform is the antithesis of the original cafe concept of the '60's. May look good in a photo or on the street, but a 550lb. motorcycle designed originally for touring does not a nimble cafe bike make on mountain twisty's. The cafe formula ceases to work after 750cc and 400 lb., although K75's certainly can fit the style, but I'm afraid the RS/LT bikes are too heavy & big to be cafes. Just my personal opinion, nothing against the personal prerogative of Forum guys doing cafe builds. Now, a K100 "GS" bike that predates the supposed original GS "Paris-Dakar" R100, yeah, I can subscribe to that.
